What I Wore (27/3).

Every time I wear an animal print I think about Jerry Hall in the Roxy Music clip for ‘Lets Stick Together’. She put the chic in leopard, tiger and zebra.

Black leather jacket from Calvin Klein, white singlet from Bonds and I found the skirt at the Bardot. It was $45 and splits in five different panels which makes it excellent with walking and wind. It has sold out but there is a very similar one in black online now – check it out here.

Gold cuff from Tiffany, black cuff from Fendi and gold clutch from Forever New. It’s in store but if you’re looking for an online fix then this glitter version is pretty fab.

Paula, please excuse me for being somewhat rude with this question but, would you say that you spend a good chunk of your earnings on fashion? I can’t help but wonder how such an endless wardrobe wouldn’t be putting a hole in one’s savings…

Just curious, please don’t take offence! :-]

    Hi Melissa
    No offence taken.

I have spent lots of money on clothes at certain times in my life – I will not lie – but…I tend to buy classic and never really throw anything out because I believe everything comes back around. Eventually.

I’ve also spent a lot of years working in the industry and have been fortunate to receive some lovely clothes from designers along the way. I had a grandmother who had an incredible wardrobe and I was benefactor of that…. and over the years it’s added up to a sizeable wardrobe but not nearly as big as you might think.

But these days I would say that I spend most of my money on school fees and food.

I have a question too –  Paula you mix high street with high fashion so well and surprisingly you  don’t seem to be afraid of synthetic fabrics!  I love some of the looks around in the high street fashions but often can’t bring myself past the 100% polyester label.  Do you forgo the fabric content for the “look”, or is synthetic fabric something that doesn’t bother you?

You always carry a clutch. I have started buying clutches because of this but I can never use them during the day. Too small for all my crap. Do you also carry a proper bag?

    Hi Curious.
I usually have a tote or a lap top bag as well as a clutch.
But what I love is that when I leave the office or go to the shops etc I just have a little bag with wallet and keys.
Also honestly it’s the only bag shape that makes sense to me right now. Everything else feels wrong.

    Interesting question. Good question.
I don’t love synthetics and in certain things I would never, ever wear them – jackets, jumpers, coats – but I think anything on the bottom half is doable.
I think I put fashion ahead of comfort sometimes.
