Time to get your New Year on!
What are doing? What are wearing? How’s your hair going to look?
Here’s nine of the best hair tutorials from 2012 – all can be done at home, by you in under twenty minutes.
Have a safe night.
PJxx
The Classic Gwyneth Ponytail.
I asked Mandy Kingsman Artistic Director for Toni & Guy HairCare to create a low-fuss, high glam version that we can all do at home.
I’m calling it The Gwyneth.
The Cool Chignon.
Here Antonio Corral Calero, International Artistic Director for Moroccanoil creates a modern, sexy version of the classic 1950′s twisted chignon. It’s how Betty Grable would do her hair in 2012. -Glamourous and cool.
It’s not hard to do this style at home its all about how you twist….
The Top Knot.
A top knot with height. Like Pebbles from the Flintstones – love her style.
Enter Mandy Kingsman, Artistic Director for Toni & Guy HairCare – here she shows us how to create volume using texture, back combing and bobby pins.
The Slick and Slide.
This hair style is really different for me – a new way to wear my hair down. It’s a little bit Elvis, a tiny bit rock and uber-polished. I’m calling it the Slick & Slide.
The Up-Plait.
I love ponytails – they are my go-to style – but I wanted some other options that are a more special for evening alternatives. First up is a little style I’m calling the Up-Plait.
The Betty D.
It’s no secret that I hate tortured, try-hard French rolls. Over them. Too retro and frankly too ageing. But i do love a glamorous up-do. There are times when you need to put your hair up and it requires more than a ponytail or a messy top knot offers.
The Donut Bun.
The donut is back. This time we’re doing a bun. Not just any bun but a full-on, impressive, black tie bun. But we’re doing it without any tools and in under ten minutes. I asked editorial session stylist Michele McQuillan to create a modern, top knot that was high on impressive but looooow on maintenance. I also didn’t allow her to use a hair dryer or anything that required electricity. I used a stop watch.
The Faux Bob.
Michele McQuillan shows you how to create a fake bob cut. To make it even more easier I’ve broken down the tutorial in two videos.
