How To: Use A Highlighter.

There is a YSL Touche Eclat sold every ten seconds. That’s a lot of love for one little gold stick.

I first discovered this product as a Beauty Editor (1996) and have used it ever since. The biggest mistake people make is using it as a concealer instead of an illuminator. It is useless on a pimple but genius at disguising shadows and countouring.

Touche Eclat means ‘touch of light’ and you should apply it wherever you want light on your face.

It works best when applied after make-up – definitely after foundation – and is a great touch-up from day to night.

Here’s how I use mine and CLICK HERE to win one for your make-up bag.

Step-By-Step.

Pro Tips.

Natasha Severino was the YSL Director of Make-up for the Spring/Summer 2013 Myer show and she used both Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation and Touche Eclat to achieve the runway looks.

What are the benefits of using a highlighting product?
Using a highlighting product brings light to the area of the face that you’re applying it to. Light reflecting particles reflect and refract light making imperfections and signs of fatigue less visible.

How should we apply our Touche Eclat?
Apply it directly onto the skin from the brush. With a soft patting motion, allow your fingers to work it into the area of the face that requires extra light.

Any other tricks for using Touche Eclat?
Before applying lipstick, apply Touche Eclat to the outer lip line and blend it well with your fingers to create the optical illusion of a fuller pout. It also works wonders for keeping your lipstick in place for longer.

What are your tips for picking the perfect shade?
I’ll often blend a few shades to create a flawless complexion, however most people sit between #2 and a 3.5 depending on the time of year and how much sun you have had exposure to.  If you have quiet dark, purple like circles under the eyes I’d try the #8 as it’s quiet yellow, neutralising the purple.

For a ready-in-a-flash makeup look, what four products would you recommend?
An eyelash curler, YSL Touche Eclat, YSL Faux Cils Black Mascara, YSL Le Rouge Lipstick.

What You Need (Radiant Skin).

Thankyou Paula! I bought this product a little while ago but have only used it once.. incorrectly. I was wondering, I like to use a finishing powder on top of liquid foundation (i find it helps to make it last longer) – can this be used over powder?
    Thanks! Amanda
