Hair How To: The Top Knot.

I wear my hair twisted up into an elastic on the top of my head most of the time. It’s a lazy, time-poor option for in between blow-dry days.

I wanted a pimped-out version of this style that looked a little more done (but equally easy). A half-way look that works casually on the weekends when more effort than the above was required.

A top knot with height. Like Wilma from The Flintstones – love her style.

In this tutorial with Mandy Kingsman, Artistic Director from Toni & Guy HairCare she shows us how to create volume using texture, back combing and bobby pins.

After a quick stop at the shops for dry shampoo and bobby pins I have transformed my boring ponytail. This is my new favourite hairstyle. I have thin hair and the back combing really boosts my bun. Will do this again and again. Off to kindy pick up looking much more polished. Thanks!!!!

Sometimes my hair throws purple after I’ve had it coloured.
I don’t use bleach in my hair only tint which means that hormones, stress, etc can change the way my hair lifts because I’m not relying on peroxide.
Also the Toni & Guy Dry Shampoo has a really cool matt, almost silver finish that made my hair ‘cooler in colour’ than usual.
